#Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.

#Hierapolis (Holy City) was an ancient city located on hot springs in classical Phrygia in southwestern Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale in #Turkey and currently comprise an archaeological museum designated as a #UNESCO World Heritage Site.

#Karahayit, the village north of Pamukkale, was once known for its rust-red hot mineral waters, filled with iron and calcium. Karahayıt became the place selected for development of large luxury spa hotels like the Richmond and Colossae…
